Scotter is a village in the West Lindsey District of Lincolnshire, England. It is geographically situated 9 miles north of Gainsborough and 7 miles south of Scunthorpe. The parish is made up of the rural villages of Scotter, Scotterthorpe and Susworth.
There is a public library, medical practice including a pharmacy, small hotel with bar and restaurant, two public houses, selection of takeaways (Fish & Chips/Indian/Chinese,) supermarket incorporating a Post Office, convenience store, vehicle repair facilities and a number of smaller shops such as hairdressers, barbers, beauticians.
The three current places of worship are St Peter’s Church, Grace Church, and Scotter Methodist Chapel.
Scotter is a thriving, lively place, with a variety of organisations, many of which use the spacious Village Hall as their venue.
Leisure is well catered for in Scotter with large football fields, which host, among other activities; the Scotter United and Junior Football Club.
Local clubs such as Scotter Tennis allows for social and competitive sport, as well as the opportunity to develop through match practice and coaching. Other activities include: karate, bowls, yoga, thai chi, cycling, badminton, football and much more!
Scotter has seen dramatic growth in the last decade and it became apparent the residents were not aware of all the organisations and societies which operate in their local community. This site is trying to change that and new and old residents alike may find something of worth on this website.
